A Rural Road Project under Construction in Nuristan

Kabul, November 1, 2020 – A 2,000-meter tertiary rural road project worth AFN 3.3 million funded by the Citizens’ Charter National Priority Program of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD/CCNPP) including 10% community contribution (financial, labor or in-kind) is currently under construction in Nuristan province.

With a 70% progress so far, the road project will benefit a total of 25 families in Kashmangal villag, Wama district of Nuristan province upon its completion.

Taking the employment generation and economic recovery into consideration, some 8,746 labor days will be created for both skilled and unskilled local laborers during the project implementation.  

It is worth mentioning that hundreds of Citizens’ Charter-funded development projects are currently underway, while some of them have already been completed in various communities of Nuristan province.
