Kabul, September 14, 2020 – Two development projects financed by the Citizens’ Charter National Priority Program of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD/CCNPP) have been launched for Kuchie communities in two districts of Baghlan province through a gathering attended by Baghlan Governor’s Office authorized representatives, RRD Director, Citizens’ Charter Provincial Manager, Sectoral Directors, Kuchies’ representatives, etc.

These two projects, belonging to Water Supply and Sanitation Sector, will be executed in Charcharak and Sayed Pana communities related to Pul-e-Kuhmri and Baghlan Jadid districts of Baghlan province in cooperation with the Kuchie Community Development Councils (KCDCs) or Elands, recently established under the MRRD/CCNPP.

Upon completion of the water supply projects worth more than AFN 4 million funded by the MRRD/CCNPP including 10% community contribution (financial, labor or in-kind) some 267 Kuchie/nomadic families will directly gain access to safe drinking water in the region.

Furthermore, a total of 180 labor days will be created for both skilled and unskilled laborers as casual employment during the implementation of these projects in both two Elbands in two districts of Baghlan province.
