55 Families Provided with Energy in Bamyan

A solar energy network capable of generating 6.4 KW electricity has been constructed in Waras district of Bamyan province. 

The solar energy project worth AFN 4,076,809 funded by the Citizens’ Charter National Priority Program of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD/CCNPP) including 10% community contribution (financial, labor or in-kind) promoted the access of 55 families to light in Mian Deh Yak village.

This solar energy network is consisted of 40 solar panels 309 watt each, 25 batteries 220 ampere each and grid extension across the community.

Some 325 labor days have been created for both skilled and unskilled laborers during the implementation of the solar project as employment generation at community level.

It is worth mentioning that hundreds of Citizens’ Charter-funded development projects in different sectors are currently underway, while some of them have already been completed in various communities of Bamyan province.
