80 Families Gain Access to Safe Drinking Water

Kabul, May 17, 2020 – Around 80 families in AimaqLafi village, Qarghan district of Faryab province have gained access to healthy drinking water for the first time upon completion of a water supply network worth AFN 1,300,000 funded by the Citizens’ Charter National Priority Program of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD/CCNPP) including 10% community contribution (financial, labor or in-kind).

Consisted of three basic components e.g. a shallow well, an overhead water tank 16 cubic meters in size and six water points in various parts,the water supply network has been designed to distribute water to the local consumers over an area of 850 cubic meters across the community.

Taking the employment generation and economic recovery into consideration, a total of 652 labor days have been created for both skilled and unskilled local laborers during the project implementation.
