310 Jiribs of Land Irrigated in Ghazni

Kabul, September 26, 2020 – A 140-meter irrigation canal worth AFN 1.5 million funded by the Citizens’ Charter National Priority Program of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD/CCNPP) including 10% community contribution (financial, labor or in-kind) has been constructed in Khwaja Daka village, Jaghato district of Ghazni province.

Designed to directly benefit 28 families, the irrigation canal will properly supply water to a total of 310 jiribs of land which will lead to a significant increase in agricultural productivities that play a significant role in rural economic well-being.

Furthermore, some 1,012 labor days have been created for both local skilled and unskilled laborers during the implementation of canal project.

It is worth mentioning that hundreds of Citizens’ Charter-funded development projects are currently underway, while some of them have already been completed in various communities of Ghazni province.
