A Rural Road to Connect Hundreds of Communities in Kunar

A rural road project 2.5 km long and 3.5 meter wide is currently under construction in Lalamkas village, Pech district of Kunar province.  

The road project worth AFN 3.3 million funded by the Citizens’ Charter National Priority Program of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD/CCNPP) including 10% community contribution (financial, labor or in-kind) will connect 372 families with the district center and rest of communities in the region upon its completion.

Some 9,467 labor days have so far been created for both skilled and unskilled laborers during the implementation of the road project as employment generation at community level.

It is worth mentioning that hundreds of Citizens’ Charter-funded development projects in different sectors are currently underway, while some of them have already been completed in various communities of Kunar province.
